Note: Defeated Picts in battle in 841 (acquiring nickname `Raven Feeder'); invited Pictish royal family to a great banquet and massacred them; became King of both Scots & Picts in 846. The Scots moved their capital to Scone, sacred heart of the Pictish Kingdom, and sat on a stone throne which, in legend, had come from Spain with the 1st Milesian monarch and spent centuries at Dunstaffnage Castle in Tara. Although the Picts had ruled much of northern Britain for over 1000 years, within a century after MacAlpin's Treason Pictish culture and language had almost disappeared.
