    Note: George had two sons who each served as King of England and Hanover, but they left no legitimate descendants and afterwords the thrones diverged. This was due to a difference in inheritance rules: Victoria, daughter of deceased Edward, inherited in England but German rules were less female-friendly and Hanover passed to Edward's younger brother Ernst.
